2011 Winner - Mamitu Daska, a 27-year-old Ethiopian, won the 33rd annual Freihofer's Run for Women on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Her time of 15:19 was seven seconds shy of the course record, set in 2010 by Emily Chebet of Kenya.

Prize Money

The 2012 Freihofer's Run for Women will offer $27,000 in total prize money as follows:

  • Open - $23,000 ($10,000, $5,000, $3,000, $2,000, $1,000, $750, $500, $300, $250, $200)
  • Masters - $1,900 ($750, $500, $350, $200, $100)
  • Team - $2,100.00 ($1,000, $500, $300, $200, $100)

Open: Open prize money available to all female athletes regardless of citizenship.

Masters: Prize money open to all females 40 years of age and over regardless of citizenship. Masters may double dip.

Team: Team prize money is open to any registered USATF Club Team.

Drug Testing

Athletes who participate in this competition may be subject to drug testing in accordance with IAAF Procedural Guidelines for Doping Control or the Olympic Movement Anti-Doping Code. Drug testing, and the adjudication of positive findings, will be carried out by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). Athletes found to have committed a doping violation will be disciplined according to the USADA Protocol and suspended, if appropriate, according to applicable IAAF rules. Such penalties may result in a period of ineligibility as well as disqualification from the event. Any substance taken by an athlete is at his/her own risk and may result in a positive sample. (This includes cold medicines, nutritional supplements, and some over the counter medicines).
